Wilkinson Williams advised Aviva Investors (as joint agents) on an extensive extension and refurbishment of the retail park. Sainsbury’s were keen to extend their non-food range on the site and terms were subsequently agreed and planning consent granted secured for a 40,000 sq ft extension. The lease on the new 115,844 sq ft store was re-structured at an increased rent.
The Sainsbury's extension involved a relocation of JJB sports, an agreement with Halfords to proceed with the extension. A general refurbishment of all of the front elevations of the retail park and reconfiguration of the car park was subsequently carried out. TK Maxx also agreed to a re-gear, removing their break clause and extending their lease term by 5 years.
Wilkinson Williams worked closely with the client, joint agent, architects and solicitors in order to deliver this project.
The JJB unit has subsequently been let to Poundland.
